Finding work
Finding seasonal work in Swiss tourism
Hotels, restaurants and mountain destinations can recruit for periods linked to visitor demand. Seasonal work may suit applicants with suitable service, kitchen, maintenance or operational experience. A useful search starts with exact availability and the practical conditions of living near the workplace.

Search by destination and season
Use employer career pages and job portals, combining the role with the destination and expected season. Recruitment schedules differ between businesses, so check published dates and ask when the team is being assembled. State the period you can cover and relevant languages. Customer-facing duties and behind-the-scenes operations can have different communication requirements.
Price the whole arrangement
Ask for the contract dates, workload, pay structure and expected shifts. Where accommodation or meals are offered, request their price, deductions, room arrangements and availability before and after the employment period. Check transport at early or late shift times. Include both the appeal of the mountain setting and the costs of housing, travel and periods between contracts in your decision.
Confirm legal and contractual readiness
Seasonal describes the employment pattern; the applicable immigration rules remain in force. EU/EFTA formalities depend on the activity and duration; new third-country admission generally follows specialist criteria and employer-led authorisation. Check your actual status with the competent canton. Before travelling, clarify who employs you, when work can lawfully start and what happens if the season or assignment changes. Keep the written terms accessible.
