Applications
What to change when applications receive no reply
Silence after an application gives limited information about the reason. The vacancy may still be under review, the recruitment timetable may have changed or your profile may need clearer positioning. Use a structured check to identify changes you can actually control.

Confirm the application reached the right place
Check the submission confirmation, portal status and email address used. Verify that attachments open, filenames are clear and the original vacancy remains active. Read any stated timetable and instructions about contact. If a reasonable interval has passed, send one concise status enquiry naming the role, reference number and submission date, then record the response.
Review fit across a small batch
Compare recent applications by language requirements, qualifications, seniority, location and work authorisation. Distinguish essential requirements from preferences. If every unanswered application shares a major unmet condition, adjust the target before rewriting every document. If you receive interviews but no offers, the issue sits later in the process and needs a different review.
Improve the evidence the reader sees first
Ask a trusted reviewer to identify your target role and strongest relevant evidence from the opening part of your dossier. Replace vague responsibilities with specific, truthful examples of contribution. Check that dates, contact details and availability agree across documents. Change one meaningful element for the next comparable batch and track outcomes. This creates a practical learning loop while preserving time for careful applications.
