Finding work
Which Swiss job websites should you use?
A useful search setup covers your occupation and region while leaving time to prepare good applications. Start with a few complementary sources and evaluate the relevant opportunities each produces. The most useful platform is the one that consistently surfaces suitable, current roles for you.

Build a complementary set
Job-Room is the public employment platform promoted by SECO. jobs.ch offers searches by occupation and region; jobup.ch focuses on French-speaking Switzerland. Add the career pages of employers you actively target. Specialist portals can help when your profession uses distinctive qualifications or terminology. Compare their actual results before adding more alerts to your routine.
Search with several versions of the role
Use the local-language title, common English equivalents and a skill keyword. For example, a technical support role may appear under several labels. Adjust location, workload and experience filters carefully, because overly narrow filters can hide suitable advertisements. Save useful searches and review whether their alerts match your aim after a week or two.
Maintain one application record
Store the employer, role, job reference, original link, closing date and application status in one place. When the same position appears on several sites, verify the current version on the employer’s page and follow its application instructions. Check whether you are dealing with a direct employer or an agency. Avoid submitting repeated versions through different channels unless the recruiter requests this.
